the battle of the greens

I am considering buying some used books (which I have never done before) soon from Amazon because I figure it is a “greener” option because it saves paper. My dilemma is that when I add in the shipping costs (which is more than the book sometimes) buying a cheaper used book can actually be more expensive that buying a new one. So the question I pose to you is…..is it more important to be a good steward of my money or of the environment? What do you think?

I think you have to consider both the money issue and the environmental issue. I bought most of Chad's books for college through half.com or Amazon's used section, but that was mostly because of cost. On half.com you can find a lot of brand new stuff cheaper than through Amazon. Honestly though, I would buy whatever is cheapest - then you have more money to buy other "environmentally correct" things like organic food or something.

Mankind is so proud of his accopmlishments to think he can control the weather patterns, ozone holes, etc. The reality is that these are naturally occuring in cycles over time. So save your money. Did you ever think of what green really means to an eviormentalist?$$
